Wall Washing : It just takes a little Flare

The perfectly washed wall, covered in homogeneous light that is free of scalloping or shadowing remains as elusive as the yeti. Slightly exaggerated, but not far from the truth, as designers search for the solution that will bring their wall to life in a perfectly uniform wash of light.

Intralux, the go to brand for commercial architectural lighting, has a clear passion for the commercial space and lighting, and has launched Flare LED to provide the (near) perfectly washed wall.

Able to light from the bottom to the very top of the wall with minimal light loss on the floor, Flare LED delivers up to 1,240 lumens from a combined lens and reflector optic to great effect.

Intralux’s pain staking hours of research and development to combine the perfect choice of matched lens with their uniquely designed cast aluminium body and reflector, ensures light reaches to the very top of the wall, while providing a balanced light level all of the way down to the bottom.

Strong back spill cut off minimises wasted light onto the floor, while the overall optical package ensures glare is minimised to deliver a lit effect that brings the wall to life while hiding the light source.

Flare LED is available in a variety of finishes, colour temperatures and luminances to suit many different spaces.

Standard colour temperatures are 2700K (perfect for residential, hospitality and spaces where ambient warmth is required), 3000K (the perfect go to for human spaces) and 4000K (for spaces with natural daylighting or where a colder tone is required).

With CIE Ra of 93+ and CIE R9 of 50+, colours are always rendered well, helping reveal them naturally. Full R1 to R15 data is also provided, with R13 skin tone being fantastically high, along with R10, R11 and R12 to ensure saturated colours are rendered well.

Knowing this, Flare LED can be used not just to wash the wall magnificently well, but it can be used to bring the wall to life. A beautiful hand made wall paper, a wall tagged by a famous graphiti artist, or a combination of finishes, textures and colours can all be revealed accurately in full detail thanks to the rich spectrum of Flare LED.

Flare LED has a small footprint, just 294 x 62mm trim to trim, and at only 42mm deep can fit into the shallowest of ceiling voids.

Flare LED finishes complete the story, with (WT) White Texture and (BT) Black Texture finish available from Intralux’s suite which also includes (BRT) Bronze Texture, (MS) Metallic Silver and (MG) Metallic Gold.

Flare LED photometry for White Texture and Black Texture finishes is available, as there are noticeable differences between the two.

Intralux HQ and manufacturing is located in Wacol, Queensland, Australia, providing great advantages in speed of delivery, reduction in cost of freight, and reduced carbon footprint. A properly engineered solution just on our doorstep.
